Riverside Loft
Riverside Loft is a 2nd floor apartment in the very heart of Fowey and has been designed and decorated to a high standard with a great, Fowey themed decor.
The front door leads onto Albert Quay & the floating pontoon - perfect for crabbing and watching boats come and go.
The open living space enjoys fantastic views over the water, is comfortable and stylish, as well as being well-equipped for your stay.
The airy master bedroom boasts a king-size bedroom and the second bedroom makes a great bunk room for two children or one adult.
We have a 40" TV with Disney Plus and DVD player to keep the kids happy on rainy days, along with Netflix and Amazon TV account for night time box set binges when they’re asleep.
If you'd rather some music while cooking or relaxing, then you can connect to our Bluetooth speakers.
The kitchen is well equipped with essential appliances such as a washer dryer and lots of handy gadgets like a Nutrabullet blender.
The master bedroom is a lovely space for couples to unwind and features a beautiful, decorative fireplace. The second bedroom has bunk beds which are always great fun for kids, while also still being suitable for an adult too.
The new family bathroom has an ample sized bath, with a good shower above.

The entrance to the apartment is via Albert Quay, and is shared with one other property. Head up the first flight of stairs to our private and secure front door, before heading up the second flight into the apartment.
The rooms are all on one level, with a bright and airy living space, bunk room, family bathroom and master bedroom.

The apartment is accessed via the Albert Quay short stay car park - a great spot for loading/unloading bags.
There are three long stay car parks in Fowey, all run by Cornwall Council. You can get hourly, daily, weekly and rover passes on their website or using the Just Park app. The best one from the house is Caffa Mill, which is a 10 min stroll along the one way road.
There is also a free car park opposite squire’s field on Park Road. There are no allocated spaces and can fill up quickly during the summer weeks. ay. There is also a short stay car park all year round at Albert Quay.

Shopping
There are several well-loved brand stores in Fowey but the real charm of the town lies in the wide range of boutique, unique, and independent shops. You can spend hours browsing for clothes, homewares, crafts, glassware, art, antiques, books, seaside knick-knacks, traditional children’s toys and don't forget the old-fashioned sweet shop!
There are also top-quality bakeries where you can find bread, rolls, pasties, cakes and treats. There may be no large supermarket, but with two local convenience stores and a Boots, you'll still find everything you need. There is a Co-op around 5 miles away, Asda and Tesco are around 7 miles, and all the major supermarkets will deliver online shopping as well.
Things To See & Do
Fowey is an estuary river town, so the obvious thing to do is spend a day messing about on the water! There are many kayak, canoe, and boat hire centres that go from both Quays. If you don’t have the strongest sea legs, then why not just take the passenger ferry over to Polruan for an afternoon. If you fancy going a little further, you can take the ferry round to Mevagissey.
In the centre of Fowey there is a sweet little aquarium, a local history museum, and a MAD museum – all are worth a peek! Fowey has a 14th century church in the centre of the town and a 15th century fort, St. Catherine’s Castle, on the edge of the estuary overlooking Readymoney Cove.
The closest beach to town is Readymoney Cove, which has clean sands and is perfect for swimming. A swimming platform is moored off the beach during the summer months. There is also a fabulous little shop for all your seaside needs. However, no dogs are allowed between Easter and October.
Within a 5/10-minute drive, you can be at Polridmouth, Polkerris or Par Sands, and within a half hour drive you’ll find Carlyon Bay, Charlestown, Porthpean, Pentewan or Mevagissey.
An hour’s drive and you are on the north coast of Cornwall – this is where you will find the more dramatic coastline and good surfing on some of the beaches.
Bit of a thrill seeker? Then Cornwall has some fantastic opportunities to get your adrenaline buzz! Hang Loose at Eden, Adrenaline Quarry near Liskeard and Via Ferrata near Penryn are perfect for a day full of crazy activities, and Retallack Watersports near Newquay is the place to head for total-wipeout style aqua adventures.
There are hundreds of miles of fantastic walks in Cornwall. The South West Coastal Path alone winds 330 miles around the county. The Saints Way is 27 miles from Fowey on the south coast, right across to Padstow on the north coast. The Fowey Hall Walk is much more manageable at 4 miles and is the best way to see Fowey from all angles! We also particularly enjoy the Gribbin Head walk, especially when the Daymark is open on Sundays in the summer. Whether you enjoy the sea, woods, rivers, moors or fields, you will not be disappointed with the walks in Cornwall.
The closest major attractions are The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. They really do offer something for everyone and make an enjoyable day-trip. For green-fingered travellers, there are also many other great gardens; in fact, there are officially 12 Great Gardens of Cornwall!
Cornwall is famous for its mining heritage, and you will see many old engine houses dotted across the landscape. The countryside directly surrounding Fowey and St Austell is locally known as Clay Country due to its abundance of China Clay. Wheal Martyn is an interesting museum that gives a good insight into the history and culture of the clay works, and if you take the walk to the top of the grounds it overlooks a modern working pit. Further afield on the North Coast, head to Wheal Coates from the iconic Poldark-style tin mines.
There are lots of National Trust and English Heritage sites across Cornwall, as well as independent stately homes and gardens. Some of our local favourites are Lanhydrock House, Pencarrow House, Tintagel Castle, Restormel Castle and Caerhays Estate.
If you’re looking for somewhere just for the kids, check out Kidzworld, Camel Creek, Springfields, Dairyland, Indoor Active, Newquay Zoo or Porfell Wildlife Centre. This is just small selection of the many dozens of places for families to visit!

It's a great central location and has the added advantage of being able to pull into the car park to unload - even if you can't park there. Of course being so central csn mean a bit of noise in the morning if you sleep with the window open! There are nice views across the harbour. The apartment is really fitted out and the Kitchen is really well equipped. We would definitely stay here again."

"Fantastic apartment ideally located in the centre of Fowey. The decor is modern and the apartment well equipped. There is a small square outside with a few short stay parking places where you can unload. It’s a level few minutes walk to the pubs/shops. We caught the ferry over to Bodinnick and ate at the Old Ferry Inn which is highly recommended. Stand Up Paddle boarding is great value at £35 for day hire. Fowey has a great atmosphere and is a lovely place to stay."

"Wonderful week in a great apartment, and superb location in our favourite Cornwall town. After a dismal spring of weather up until the day we arrived, we were so lucky to get a warm week of almost unbroken sunshine. Lovely curry to be had at the Sunny Spice opposite, enormous fish and chips and great conversation at the Ship Inn, excellent beer to be had at the King of Prussia and Galleon, and if you're feeling energetic, don't miss the Hall Walk from Polruan ending at the Ferry Inn in Bodinnick. (Though on the latter just make sure they are going to be open when you arrive as they're not operating all day hours at the moment!)"

Lovely reception from locals and the high street was wonderful. I would advise booking restaurants ahead of travel as they are very popular. We loved the various walks and amazing bakeries. “We had a fabulous five day family holiday in the Riverside Apartment. It's located right in the centre of Fowey, on the quayside with views across the river. All the local amenities are on hand and we used the local bakery to get fresh bread and pastries every morning. The apartment is well kitted out, exactly as described, everything was in good working order and spotlessly clean. The apartment is an ideal base to explore Cornwall, though we did stick around one day to do the Hall walk, which was picturesque and well worth it.”

"A lovely apartment overlooking the Quay at Fowey. Refurbished recently, it's stylish and sparklingly clean with all mod-cons. Everything is within walking distance, so after unloading your car outside, leave it at the long-stay car park 7 minutes walk away and enjoy a nice glass of Korev Cornish Lager at the King of Prussia around the corner. You're surrounded by pubs and restaurants, and if you need to grab a loaf of bread or a bottle of wine you're only a couple of minutes away from a wonderful bakery, a mini-mart, and a delicatessen selling treats just up the road. Looking out of your window you'll see the floating pontoon. Chill out and watch the hustle and bustle of the river, or rent a boat yourself and explore the local area. On a sunny day, take a walk up to Readymoney beach and relax on the sand. See if you can spot Dawn French's house! Great location and fantastically appointed apartment. Highly recommended for a Cornish getaway."
