Fowey
In the centre of Fowey there is also a sweet little aquarium, and a local museum – both are worth a peek! Fowey has a 14th church and a 15th century castle fort.
There are a variety of activities on the water, ranging from organised boat trips to canoe hire.
The closest permanent is Ready Money Cove, which has clean sands and is perfect for swimming. There is also a tidal sea-pool hidden away at the Whitehouse Pier!
Within a five-ten minute drive, you can be at Polkerris beach and Par Sands, and within a half hour drive there is Carlyon Bay, Charlestown, Porthpean, Pentewan and Mevagissey.

Shopping
There are several well-loved brand stores in Fowey (Sea Salt, Joules, Fat Face, and Mountain Warehouse) but its real charm lies with the wide range of boutique, unique and independent shops. Spend hours browsing them for clothes, homewares, crafts, glassware, art, antiques, books, seaside knick-knacks, traditional children toys and don't forget the old fashioned sweet shop!
There are also several bakeries and the fabulous Kittows deli. With two local stores, there may be no supermarket in Fowey, but you'll still find everything you need here. And all the major supermarkets will deliver online shopping as well.
There are many thousands of miles of fantastic walks in Cornwall. The South West Coastal Path alone winds 630 miles around the county, and The Saints Way is 27 miles from Fowey on the south coast, right across to Padstow on the north coast. The Fowey Hall Walk is much more manageable at 4 miles! Whether you enjoy the sea, woods, rivers, moors or fields, you will not be disappointed with the walks in Cornwall.

The closest major attractions are The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens Of Heligan. They really do have something for everyone and make a most enjoyable day out for children and adults.
For the green-fingered travellers, there are also many other great gardens - in fact, there are 12 Great Gardens of Cornwall!

If you’re looking for somewhere just for the kids, check out Camel Creek, Springfields, Dairyland, Kidzworld at Cornucopia, Indoor Active, Newquay Zoo or Porfell Wildlife Centre. A small list of the many hundreds of places for families to visit!

Cornwall also has many wonderful National Trust and English Heritage sites.

Excellent apartment in a great location. Fowey is a little jewel in Cornwall’s crown. Facilities excellent and very attentive host. Even managed to post my passport that I left there in time for me to get my flight from Edinburgh the following day. Highly recommend

A lovely, well appointed cosy apartment. Patio and furniture, French doors open onto patio from lounge/dining area. Very well kept gardens, indoor/outdoor pool right next door. We stayed a week in June and it was lovely weather, warm enough to have breakfast and dinner outside - and nice and quiet. The kitchen area had everything we (read I) needed to cook, and I even managed the combi microwave. We had a minor hot water problem but this was soon resolved by Fowey Homes. The welcoming bubbles was lovely. We hope to return.

The apartment was located within walking distance from the town, with a great dog walk on route. Lovely garden and nice to have an indoor pool next door. Catered perfectly for us and our dog.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Abi's place. The apartment is ideal for a couple overlooking lovely gardens. The apartment was full of the afternoon sunshine when we arrived. The pool and sauna next door were an added bonus (we did not notice any noise overnight). It was well equipped and very comfortable. It is an ideal location for the area, but its a good walk down into Fowey (which we didn't mind). But there is a shuttle bus from the main car parks. Recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay in the pool house. Close to some lovely walks (to secluded beaches!) And a 10 min walk to the village. Accommodation was clean, spacious, very quite and private. The gardens are beautifully kept and the indoor pool was a great bonus.

Lovely location easy to find. We enjoyed our stay in this property set in beautiful gardens. The apartment has everything you need to enjoy the joys of Cornwall. Very quiet setting. No noise or disturbance from the next door pool, which was very nice and clean. A very nice apartment and location. We hope to return soon.

We arrived as the cleaners arrived so walked for 20 mins into Fowey for a look round and beer and got the minibus back ( £1.50 each to nearby roundabout, £4.50-5.00 taxi to door). It consists of a lounge /diner/kichen which is easy big enough for 2 and 1 double bed with loo and shower, there is a small patio area outside with table chairs and a parasol, as in pic, so all perfectly good. Apartment is attached to the pool so very close and is big enough to have a good swim

We found the property without any problems & were very impressed with the accommodation. It was bright, clean & nicely furnished with French doors out into the garden. We didn't use the pool or sauna but they seemed clean & modern. It was very interesting reading the history of Carnethic House which looks very beautiful. We discovered the access to the lane at the back of the house through the gate at the bottom of the garden & enjoyed a very pleasant circular walk - despite the weather. There is also a track down to Readymoney cove just up the road & then on into Fowey which was enjoyable.

Just returned from a week's stay in this well equipped and cosy apartment. Many excellent places to eat nearby, walking from the apartment a joy. Best of all a lovely pool to relax in after a long walk. We will definitely be back.
